Abstract

Indonesian society, which is still deeply rooted in religious traditions related to human life journeys, such as the seventh month ritual, Aqiqah, Yasin reading, and Tahlil recitation, or religious practices associated with significant events in Islamic history, such as Mauludan (commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad), Rajaban (commemorating the Isra' Mi'raj event), Nuzulul Quran (commemorating the revelation of the Qur'an), and Muharram (welcoming the Islamic New Year), can be observed in the life of the community in the Dingin Ngronggot hamlet, Ngronggot District, Nganjuk Regency. This article, with a focus on reading Surah Yasin and memorizing Tahlil at TPQ Tarbiyatus Sibyan, discusses the mentoring activities conducted in the Dingin Ngronggot hamlet, particularly in RT 01 RW 05. The initiative began by gathering information from the leadership of TPQ Tarbiyatus Sibyan and coordinating with them. The practice of reading Yasin and memorizing Tahlil is instilled in children who have reached a certain level of Quranic education. They read Surah Yasin together under the guidance of their Quranic teacher, ensuring a gradual and patient approach. The anticipated outcome of this program is that children in the Dingin Ngronggot hamlet will be able to read Surah Yasin collectively and be motivated by their teachers to memorize Tahlil. As an incentive, the teachers provide a monetary reward of 50,000 Indonesian Rupiah to the first memorizer, fostering even greater enthusiasm among the students for Tahlil memorization. Through the consistent practice of reading Surah Yasin and memorizing Tahlil, the students have incorporated this routine into their weekly activities, specifically every Thursday. As a result, they have seamlessly integrated this practice into their daily lives. This enables the students to lead Yasin and Tahlil recitations in their everyday lives and within the community
