Author Guideline

AUTHOR GUIDELINES

1. General Manuscript Format

  • Manuscripts must be original and have not been previously published or submitted elsewhere.
  • Written in proper academic English or Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Submitted in Microsoft Word (.docx) format with the following settings:
    • Font: Cambria
    • Font size: 12 pt
    • Line spacing: 1.15
    • Paragraph spacing: Before 6 pt, After 6 pt
    • Margins: 3 cm on all sides
  • Manuscript length: 6–15 pages (excluding references and appendices).

 

2. Title, Abstract, and Keywords

Title

  • Must be concise, informative, and reflect the core activity of the community engagement.
  • Maximum 15 words.
  • Use Title Case, Bold, Centered, Cambria 14 pt.

Abstract

  • Written in English and Bahasa Indonesia (bilingual).
  • Contains 150–250 words, written in a single paragraph.
  • Must include:
    • Background
    • Objectives
    • Methods
    • Results
    • Conclusion and Implications
  • Avoid citations, abbreviations, or overly technical terms.

Keywords

  • Provide 4–6 keywords, separated by semicolons (;).
  • Do not repeat words used in the title.

Example:
Keywords: community empowerment; participatory approach; rural development; digital training

 

3. Manuscript Structure

The article must follow the structure below:

  • INTRODUCTION
    Explains the context, background, rationale, and objectives of the community service. Includes a brief literature review and identification of knowledge/practice gaps.
  • METHODS
    Describes the location, target partners, and the empowerment approach used (e.g., ABCD, CBR, participatory, andragogy). Includes the community organizing process, planning stages, implementation, and evaluation strategy. Diagrams/flowcharts are recommended.
  • RESULTS
    Describes the dynamic facilitation process and the technical or social actions taken. Explains early signs of social change such as institutional formation, behavioral shifts, local leadership, or community awareness.
  • DISCUSSION
    Presents critical reflection and theoretical interpretation of the results, linking them to relevant literature. Discusses contributions to knowledge and practical engagement models.
  • CONCLUSION
    Summarizes the main outcomes, theoretical insights, and provides recommendations for future action or replication.
  • ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
    Acknowledge partner communities, supporting institutions, or funding sources (include contract number if applicable).
  • REFERENCES
    Use APA 7th Edition Style, managed using Mendeley or Zotero. Minimum 15 references, with 80% from scholarly sources published within the last 10 years.

 

4. Heading Format (No Numbering)

To maintain consistency and readability, section titles must follow the style below:

  • MAIN HEADING
    • ALL CAPS
    • Bold
    • Aligned Left
    • Example: METHODS
  • subheading
    • lowercase
    • Bold
    • Aligned Left
    • Example: community profile
  • sub-subheading
    • lowercase
    • Bold + Italic
    • Aligned Left
    • Example: training approach

 

5. Tables and Figures

  • Figures: Captions are placed below the figure, centered.
    Example: Figure 1. Activity Implementation Diagram
  • Tables: Captions are placed above the table, centered.
    Example: Table 1. Descriptive Statistics
  • Use Cambria 11–12 pt inside tables. Ensure clarity and readability.

 

6. References

  • Use APA 7th Edition style, managed with Mendeley or Zotero.
  • At least 15 references, with minimum 80% from scholarly sources (journals, academic books, official reports) published within the last 10 years.
  • Use hanging indent (0.5 inch) for each entry.

7. Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts will be screened for plagiarism. Similarity index must be less than 20%.

 

8. Submission Process

Submit manuscripts through the online journal system (OJS) or via the journal’s official email. Ensure formatting and structure conform to these guidelines prior to submission.
