Abstract
Infrastructure plays a crucial role in supporting the learning process in schools, and effective management of educational infrastructure is essential for optimal utilization and motivating students to learn diligently. This qualitative study investigated the role of infrastructure management in enhancing students' motivation in religious education at SMP Negeri 10 Jember during the academic year 2014/2015. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis, and qualitative descriptive analysis was employed. The findings indicated that infrastructure management, including procurement, maintenance, utilization, and development of facilities, significantly influenced students' motivation. The study concluded that creating a conducive learning environment aligned with students' desires, interests, and needs enhanced intrinsic motivation, while extrinsic motivation was effectively facilitated through competition, punishment, rewards, praise, and assessments, utilizing the school's facilities. The successful management of educational infrastructure at SMP Negeri 10 Jember contributed to enhancing students' motivation in religious education, emphasizing the importance of infrastructure management in fostering both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation.
