Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe and analyze the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka (Independent Curriculum) in Indonesian language learning and its role in fostering the creativity of students at SMK Baiturrahim, Kota Jambi. Additionally, this study seeks to examine the impact of the Kurikulum Merdeka on the development of students' creativity in Indonesian language learning. A qualitative descriptive method was employed for this research, chosen to provide a detailed description of how the Kurikulum Merdeka is implemented in fostering creativity at SMK Baiturrahim. The results indicate that the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka in Indonesian language learning at SMK Baiturrahim has been successful. The application of this new curriculum has led to a positive transformation in students' creative development. Creativity among students is evident through four key aspects: critical thinking, emotional sensitivity, the development of individual skills or talents, and strong imagination during the learning process. The successful implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka has been proven to enhance student creativity, enabling them to think critically and rationally, be emotionally sensitive, discover their skills or talents, and foster strong imagination. Furthermore, the impact of this curriculum in the learning process facilitates the exploration of students' skills and talents, resulting in inventive and original learning outcomes.
